2018 Berkshire Wedding Photography – My Year

2018 Berkshire Wedding Photography – My Year

Here we are 2018, you and me. I’ll be honest and say I did not think much of you at first. I guess I just got carried away by everything that happened. As I write this final post of the year though, it just hit me. 2018, you have been an incredible year for me and what is likely to have been one of the best of my life yet.

I was looking back to select a few photos and I couldn’t help but smile at all the adventures, the small happy episodes and the new friendships 2018 brought to me. Attempting a brief recap might be tough, but I’ll try!

Wedding Photography

My wedding photography definitely hit a turning point this year. I began defining my style more and more and, consequently, gained a lot more confidence. Relaxed creative reportage has become increasingly important for me with a particular attention to portraits that reveal the miraculous intimacy people can share.

I have had the immense luck to be chosen by some amazing couples both in the UK and in Italy. I am already looking forward to the weddings I will photograph next year.

Wedding Industry Friends & SNAP

In 2018 I also made some good friends in the industry. Not just fellow wedding photographers, but other incredibly talented wedding suppliers as well. I must say it has made a huge difference to the way I approach my business. Collaborating with same-minded people is good for one’s creativity, but above all for one’s soul. Loneliness is very common when working for yourself and it is comforting to know that I can now rely on some people to share my difficulties and successes with.

SNAP was an important part of it. Finding their community – a community of people that truly wants to better themselves – has motivated me in many ways.

Travel Photography

If you need to know one thing about me is that multiculturality and the curiosity towards the ”other” are a big part of who I am and how I live my life. Yet another reason why 2018 was incredible, it’s that I travelled to a few cities and countries I had never been to. Bilbao, Berlin, Zagreb, Gdansk Verona and, above all, our incredible trip to South Africa.

Personal

On a personal level, after getting married last year, I truly enjoyed the beautiful peaceful stability in our daily life. I was never one to dream marriage and it took me a very long time to be ”ready” for it. I now can happily say that, for someone who never dreamt of her wedding, I quite love married life.

Leonardo has grown so much in the last year. I have been in awe of every single progress and change. He is speaking more and more every day. Seeing him speaking both Italian and English seems like a little miracle to me.

Are you looking for a wedding photographer for next year? I happen to know one!
