A Beautiful Destination Wedding in Italy – L+ S
It’s finally time for me to share this incredible Italian-Spanish wedding I had the luck to photograph last Summer in Cilento, Italy. There is so much I’d like to write about this wonderful couple and their wedding, but for once I genuinely think the images will do a much better job. Where
Before the Wedding Ceremony
When I arrived at the venue with my amazing second-shooters Becky and Chrissy, we found an idyllic atmosphere. Leire was the most effortlessly beautiful and chilled bride I had ever seen. She spent her wedding morning playing with her son Bruno, something that resonated with me as it reminded of my own wedding day. The groom Stefano and his father were getting ready literally next door.
The gorgeous area of Cilento has a very special meaning for the groom. Stefano’s family is originally from this part of Italy and, even though they moved around a lot during his childhood and he now resides in Spain, it was important for him that he would get married there.
I am not going to lie. This was likely the most emotional ceremony I have ever been part of. I – the official photographer – cried my eyes out for most of it and people have mentioned they get emotional just looking at the images.
Every single speech was so heartfelt. Although all the teary guests had to burst into laughter when little Bruno suddenly started to sing ”oh Bella ciao” (a notorious Partisan Italian song).
I loved that throughout the whole day there was so much love and tangible joy. And it’s beautiful to see these features shine through the photos.
Ironically, as it was in August in Southern Italy, it rained all day but no one even noticed or stopped smiling for a moment.
Well, let’s just say that an Italian-Spanish party sounds as epic as it is. The energy was really high and we loved every moment and felt just like guests. Thank you for having me capture your day Leire and Stefano. Your wedding truly holds a special place in my heart.
Thank you, Berni! You were exactly what we were looking for. A true professional and a very supportive person on such an important day for us.
