Best Berkshire Intimate Wedding Venues
Being an Italian wedding photographer based in Reading, Berkshire I’m lucky enough to photograph weddings in both countries. People often ask me if I have a preference and, to be honest, I don’t. Weddings for me are about the couple I get to photograph and I firmly believe every location is as beautiful as the story is hosting on that day.
This said I am often asked by my couples to provide suggestions about possible venues here in Berkshire. To be fair, the more weddings I photograph the more I love helping my couples with their wedding planning! (I even have a Facebook community with that goal). So here is a list of my favourite Berkshire intimate wedding venues.
The Great House at Sonning, Berkshire
The Great House at Sonning is the perfect location for a really relaxed intimate wedding in Berkshire. The staff is lovely and it has more than a few perks. It’s located on the riverside (and that per se is gorgeous), the 18th-century bridge nearby is absolutely beautiful. It’s not far from town, but it still feels like you’re in the
Wasing Park, Berkshire
Wasing Park is a great combination of romantic and quirky and has loads of personality. It’s located on a large family-owned estate in the idyllic Berkshire Countryside. Undeniably there is something artistic about it. My favourite bits are the beautiful little countryside church included in the property and the stunning Victorian Summerhouse. Manor Barn, Maidenhead Lillibroke
A few months ago I photographed a stunning wedding at Lillibroke Manor Barn in Maidenhead with my amazing friend and photographer Rachel. We both thought it was stunning and I must say that Lillibroke Manor is probably one of my most favourite Berkshire venues to date. The venue is extremely spacious and one of the largest Grade II Listed barns in the south of England (!). They are also licensed for civil ceremonies that take place in a separate beautiful building. If you’re looking for a barn wedding with a glamorous twist and plenty of green and space to dance away… Then you should not look any further.
Heron’s Farm, Pangbourne
I worked at Heron’s Farm on a few occasion. It is a very sweet venue and a hidden gem. Suitable for a ‘Summer garden party’ style reception, or a more formal and chic celebratory event. It’s rustic and genuine and it doesn’t get more intimate and relaxed than that. See more photos of Heron’s Farm here.
Bel and Dragon, Reading
Bel and Dragon Reading is a restaurant situated in a former biscuit factory in central Reading. It’s right on the Kennet & Avon Canal and it is beautifully furnished. Elegant and cosy at once. Highly recommended if you’re looking for a venue in Berkshire that is both trendy and intimate.
