L. & N. – A Couple Session in Beautiful Bilbao
So many stories and so many paths cross in every set of pictures. This is the story of a couple and the beautiful connection between them. Yet this is the story of a city – Bilbao – and how I walked through it like it was home on my first stay ever there. I have never in my life been in a city that reminded me so much of my own (Naples, Italy) and yet had such a strong identity. I fell so hard for the unique magnificent building that is the Guggenheim Museum. I have read and learned so much about the city while visiting it and my heart still feels full from that time.
When I was in university, I majored in modern and contemporary art and if you know me, you probably know that visual art plays a huge role in my life and in my work. Obviously, I had been dreaming of visiting the Bilbao Guggenheim Museum for a very long time, and I was amazed at the opportunity to take photos in such an inspiring location. Once again, my camera allowed me to experience things in a much deeper way.
Liz and Nelson are a beautiful young couple and they were an absolute joy to capture. We immediately felt comfortable around each other in spite of a small language barrier. We laughed and quickly overcame the initial shyness. We walked around in this magic place where everything is set to inspire. We got wet next to the fountains and found ourselves in a thick fog. I literally just let Liz and Nelson do what they naturally do with minimal to no posing and worked around the beauty that was surrounding us from each side.
I must admit I am in love with these photos and how the whole set turned out. Their enthusiasm was tangible on the day and after and I hope I paid justice to their love and personalities with my photos. Thank you guys, you will have a friend in the UK whenever you want to visit.
