‘Game of Thrones’ Bridal Inspiration in Berkshire

‘Game of Thrones’ Bridal Inspiration in Berkshire

The Inspiration

Recently, Paul and I have been binge-watching the new episodes of ‘Game of Thrones’, so what better moment to finally share our gorgeous GoT inspired bridal shoot?  It all started with Lyndsey’s gorgeous wedding gown. I immediately fell in love with the unique look of the dress and together we started to plan the styled shoot and look for other suppliers. My styled photo sessions have been known in the past to share one common feature: horrible windy weather. This one was no exception, with the difference that it did not bother us much as it did go hand in hand with the mood of the photos we wanted. The team was wonderful and we worked really well in spite of the miserable weather. The location was a beautiful small castle in Newbury. None of us had been there before and we all loved how stunning it did look.

In Lyndsey’s Words

Lyndsey has beautifully summarized the spirit of the photos:

Ivory brocade, blood red flowers and gold calligraphy; this was a wedding shoot to inspire the noble and the theatrical of heart. Bouffant hair, tiered lace, and roses, all in a palette of soft ivory tones, with rich gold and deep red accents. The theme of this bridal shoot was extravagance- the most beautiful aesthetics collected from history, lore, fantasy and fairytale to meld together a theme fit for a queen in her red keep. Styling The grandeur of a ruined castle atop a hill, on a moody day, was the perfect scene set for our medieval and fantasy inspired wedding. Metallic gold table dressings, red and cream raw edged wedding stationary with gold calligraphy and fine details and gold cutlery were the base of our wedding table. Tudor rose biscuits and a tiered wedding cake adorned with roses and gold leaf detailing completed our tables. Our makeup look consisted of dark and dusky eyes and dark vampiric red lips, and hair styled into a theatrical updo with a red, ivory and gold flower crown. A hand dyed French chiffon skirt, ivory brocade corset with gold floral guipure lace vine trim and a raw ivory and gold lace train. Epitomizing all the romance and indulgence of history and fantasy.

P.S. You can find the full list of the fabulous team of suppliers at the end of the post, with links to their websites. Also, for your fun, I have included a couple of ‘behind-the-scenes’ images at the end of the post. Enjoy!
