L. & K. – An Engagement Session in Central Reading
As soon as I saw Laure-Emmanuelle smiling and waving at me through the shop-window, I immediately realized the session would be fun. The forecast was cloudy with no rain, but our hopes were dashed pretty much immediately. It started to rain within seconds of meeting, so we decided to stay in a little and grab a cup of coffee instead. I am so glad we did. Laure-Emmanuelle is originally French and we talked kids, parenting, life here in England, speaking different languages home…
I am truly fascinated with people and what makes them who they are, so it was lovely to learn more about them both. I could listen to personal stories for ever. I think it’s absolutely key to get to know each other a little bit before a photo shoot. It truly helps to put everyone at ease… Photographer included! Well, Laure and Kevin were lovely and very comfortable with each other. We had so much fun walking around the centre of Reading. On a Sunday morning, the town centre was completely deserted, so we had all the time to play and experiment together. As usual, I tried to stay unintrusive and just let things flow naturally keeping directions to a minimum. Not once did they complain about the rain or let it bother them. They didn’t stop smiling for a second and I really believe that shows in the photos.
I hope you all will enjoy going through this small selection of photos, as much as I loved taking them.
