Intimate same-sex wedding at Pitzhanger Manor in London – G + J
If you love intimate weddings then you'll be inspired by this gorgeous micro-wedding at Pitzhanger Manor
The lovely Gemma and Julie got married at the gorgeous Pitzhanger Manor, a stunning country-house and museum in Ealing, London, surrounded by beautiful gardens. It was a gorgeous day full of love, laughter and the sun shone pretty brightly! Since we met, it felt comfortable, and I was so happy and honoured to be part of their wedding day. They are such a sensitive and exquisite couple, and I felt like I was witnessing something truly special.
The day started at Gemma and Julie’s super stylish home, where I captured some lovely moments of them getting ready with their family and son. The atmosphere was happy and relaxed.

The ceremony
The ceremony took place in the stunning colonnade at Pitzhanger Manor and was really cosy, which was lovely. It also included the couple saying personal vows they’d written themselves. The vows were genuinely moving, full of so much love and sentiment.
In place of reading, Gemma’s sister interpreted John Denver’s “Annie’s song” a capella. It is a homage to both their childhood (the sisters used to sing it together as kids) and Julie, who is American. There was no dry eye while she was singing! Including mine! To this moment, this is one of my most favourite moments from a wedding, and I still get goosebumps when I think of it. However, I do wish I had a recording of her gorgeous, heartfelt interpretation.

“Berni we looked through your images last night and loved them! What a special evening we had reliving our day. Thank you so much for finding time to capture it for us. We loved having you there, it felt like you fit in so seamlessly and you’ve helped us create memories that we’ll treasure.”

The reception
After the ceremony, we wandered around the venue for couples portraits, which was really relaxed, and I got some really special photos of the couple in the gardens which hold a special meaning to the couple. We had such a laugh getting the photos done and got to chat about our lives and experiences like we were old friends.
The reception was held in the venue’s cosy restaurant. Pitzhanger Manor is perfect for weddings because it has so many options, and it’s got such a spectacular vibe, especially in the gardens.
